Karen Mulder

Biographical information

Art and architectural historian Karen L. Mulder first began interviewing Johannes Schreiter, and visiting German installations as Menil Scholar of Visual Arts at Yale University, where her thesis on Schreiter received the Kavanaugh Award for Distinguished Intellectual Achievement. Her dissertation at the University of Virginia documented the German architectonic glass movement as a socio- cultural response to Hitlerís Final Solution. Since 1986, she has lectured and written internationally on contemporary art, contributing to American Arts Quarterly and Material Religions: Belief, Object, Art, and serving the boards of the Newington Cropsey Cultural Studies Foundation (NYC), the C.S. Lewis Foundation (Cambridge, Oxford and California), and Christians in the Visual Arts (Mass.).
