Judith Hiemer Van Wie

Judith Hiemer Van Wie is the 4th generation of her family to work in stained glass.  She and her husband, James, currently operate the family firm established in 1931.  Judith received her BS from Bryant College, RI, in 1985 for business communications and studied figure drawing at Parsons School of Design, NYC.  She completed an apprenticeship in the craft in 1992 as an artist/designer. 

 

She has served on various committees of the SGAA, was elected to the Board of Directors of SGAA in 1988 and also chaired the Marketing Committee.  Her design work can be found in over 115 U.S. churches, mostly RC, as well as in India and St. Croix.  She and her husband are also busy raising the next generation of potential artists - their two young daughters.
