Auction Rules and Procedures

  1. At registration, each attendee will receive an assigned bidder number to be used for silent and live auction bidding.  A bid posted on silent auction bid sheets and bids acknowledged by the Auctioneer is a binding contract to purchase an item.
  2. All sales are final.  No exchanges or refunds are permitted on auction purchases.  All items are sold "as is".
  3. Bidders must show their bid by holding up the bidding card with the number clearly visible.  With the 'fall of the auctioneer hammer' title to the item passes to the highest bidder.  The auctioneer's decision is final.  The auctioneer will announce the winning number and the amount for the audience and the cashier's recorder.
  4. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid that, in his/her opinion, does not commensurate with the value of the offered item.
  5. All items must be paid for in full on the night of the auction and removed from the premises immediately.
  6. Check-out and payment begins at the conclusion of the auction.  Patience is called for as the cashiers process item payments by item number.  Cashiers will accept cash, check, MasterCard or Visa.  All sales are final.  No item shall be removed until the conclusion of the auction and payment is made.
  7.  Proof of payment must be presented to an Auction Volunteer assisting with the disbursement of purchased items.  Customer receipts will be initialed by a volunteer indicating the item has been retrieved and paid for.
  8. Upon purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either the American Glass Guild, any individual assisting with the auction on behalf of the AGG, or any donor of the property or services purchased.
  9. Neither the AGG nor the donor is responsible for any personal injury or damage to the property that may result from the use of the property or services purchased.
  10. The Auction Committee reserves the right to add, diverge from the order presented, or withdraw, without notice, items to or from the auction.  The Auction Committee regrets any errors or omissions from the website, newsletter or blog.
  11. Item values set forth are estimate only and are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value.  Bidders are advised to consult their chosen tax professional for advice regarding regulations for all deductions.

Absentee Bidding:  Rules and Procedures

  • Absentee bids will be accepted via email only.  Bids are to be sent to Kathy Jordan -Aog1987@aol.com or Maria Serpentino -  ssglass@aol.com .
  • Items that are listed on http://www.aggauction.blogspot.com are available for purchase and will have a coded item number for bidding identification.
  • All bids must be received no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 23rd.
  • Proxy Bids must indicate the items' identification code and the dollar amount the bidder is willing to pay.
  • The accepted method of payment for absentee bidding is Visa or MasterCard.  The following credit card information must accompany a bid in order to be considered a valid bid.
  1. Full name as it appears on card
  2. Credit card number
  3. Full billing address
  4. Expiration date
  5. Three digit code on the reverse side of the credit card
  • Shipping information must be provided within the email and all costs incurred are the responsibility of the winning recipient and will be charged to the credit card number provided.
  • A proxy bid posted via email is a binding contract to purchase an item.
  • All winning bids will be notified within 72 hours of the auction via email.
