Cynthia Williams

Cynthia Williams is the director of the Smithsonian/Corcoran M.A. program in the history of decorative arts in Washington, DC.  In addition to her duties as director, Ms. Williams teaches courses in glass, ceramics, and history of decorative arts and continues her own independent research. 

In 2001 her work on the stained glass of William Beckford’s Fonthill Abbey was presented in London and is featured in a chapter of a volume to be published this year in the U.K.  She lectures on stained glass related topics and serves as a strategic planning advisor for the National American Glass Club and is a director of the American Glass Guild. 

In March 2007 Ms. Williams presented a paper on Walter Dorwin Teague’s designs for Steuben Glass at Corcoran’s symposium in conjunction with its exhibition Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939
