Sponsor Info

The American Glass Guild is an organization dedicated to the open and widespread dissemination of information about stained, leaded and decorative glass. We actively seek the participation of all people with an interest in these diverse arts.  Our 2006 Albany (NY) conference had over 100 attendees and even more (130) studio owners, artists, designers, and restoration specialists attended our 2007 Providence (RI) conference.  We expect the 2008 Philadelphia Conference to be the biggest yet!

It will feature these confirmed speakers, and others:  Nicola Gordon Bowe (Ireland), Rowan LeCompte, Judith Schaechter, David Wilde, Tom Küpper (England), Robert Pinart, Charles Z. Lawrence, Ellen Miret, Ellen Mandelbaum, Donald Samick, Debora Coombs, Carol Heidschuster (England), Lance Kasparian, Ken Leap, Nancy Nicholson, Gene Mallard, Geoffrey Wallace (Australia), Susan Greenbaum,  Art Femenella, Barbara Krueger, Kathy Jordan, E. Scott Taylor, Diane Wright (Corning Glass), Lindsy Parrott  (Neustadt Museum)and Barbara Krueger.  The roundtable discussions so popular in Albany and Providence will be repeated; also two days of tours, a live auction, Member exhibition, attendee slide show, five hands-on workshops and more.

Diane Rousseau, N. Adams, MA  “Thank you for the FANTASTIC work setting up the Albany conference.   It was a challenging schedule but packed with great speakers… I don't feel like we wasted a minute.”

Hallie Monroe, Southampton, NY  “It was a brilliant venue for the exchange of techniques, ideas and business cards. I hope to keep in touch with as many   people as possible and look forward to the next.”

Jean Farnsworth, Philadelphia, PA.  “Congratulations! The first AGG conference was very impressive.  The organization skills shone down to the smallest detail from initial planning to the vigilance during the conference.  I know everyone was equally impressed.”

Jessica Fisher Neidl (Assoc. for Preservation Technology). “It was great to see the enthusiasm  and camaraderie of all of the participants….the whole experience was really enlightening.”

Live Auction - If you would like to donate an item for the live auction, please let us know.  The majority of the proceeds support the Jim Whitney Scholarship Fund.  The application for the scholarship and past recipients are posted on our website.  Jim had a longtime stained glass studio in Cleveland and was very interested and involved in stained glass education.  Unfortunately our good friend succumbed to cancer in October 2005.
