Cliff Oster Clifford Oster has been professionally involved in stained glass since 1972. He received initial training at the Brooklyn Museum of Art; Durhan Studios in NYC and the former Stained Glass in North Adams, MA. He received specialized training at Durhan with Albinas Elskus and Paul Coulaz, who were both the greatest teachers ever. For 7 years he owned and operated his own studio in North Walpole, NH. In 1986 he resurrected White Metal Rolling & Stamping Corporation’s lead division. In that capacity, he was in charge of sales and production as well as research and development. It was during this time that he had many discussions with some of the nations leading metallurgists and studio owners, concerning lead formulations. In 1982 he developed the first of his major silver stains, Ancient Walpole. Its first historical use was in the Mother Seton windows, which were designed and painted by Albinas Elskus. The windows were fabricated by Rohlf Studios. He has been active in the establishment of scholarships through the Antrim School. He is also a member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters and tries to get to as many conferences as possible.
