Decisions, decisions. Thoughts on glass selection

The translation of a sketch into a stained-glass window can hit a critical bump in the road unless the one doing the translation understands the language of color. This is where a window becomes either a mundane color network - some red, some blue, a little green - or an exciting and intriguing work of art. Whether it is undertaken by the artist who made the sketch or another individual, glass selection is hard work requiring great focus, sensitivity and care.

Selecting glass is and always has been one of my favorite things to do in the world. I absolutely loved working with artist and glass selector Bill Roemer in the 1980s and early 90s. He was an adventure always, an A#1 human being, a good friend, and what he could do with color would take my breath away. He worked with many different artists and I loved what he did with them all. I will be showing examples of work Bill and I did together, as well as projects he did with other artists.
