Saara Gallin

 Saara Gallin's BIO

A native New Yorker, Saara Gallin's work in stained glass began over thirty years ago.  Her dues to society had been paid, she was free - and age was irrelevant. Experiment and exploration led to her signature work; kiln formed   glass and constructions used as a means to create dimensional forms in relief.

In 1988 she won second prize for "Kristallnacht Revisited"  in the Oklahoma State Capitol, as well as the Second Annual American Crafts Award of Merit in Architecture. in 1989 she was one of nine Americans selected for the Second International Exhibition of Stained Glass at the Centre International duVitrail in Chartres, France.  In 2004 she was a finalist in the Spertus Jucaica prize Competition.  In 2006 - "Sculpting in Glass" at the Yeshiva University Museum , at the Center for Jewish History in New York City.

Her work graces many public collections including Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y., the Sir Isaac Wolfson Judaica Museum in Jerusalem and Hebrew Union College in New York City, as well as the Yeshiva University Museum in New York City and many private collections.
