Service Description
Glass Repair Workshop Roberto Rosa and Zach Green The workshop will consist of hands-on edge-gluing repair techniques employing conservation grade optical epoxies and silicones, as well as using copper foil. In-fills and tinting of adhesives will be discussed. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a understanding of common glass conservation issues, and options and strategies for its conservation. Roberto joined Serpentino Stained Glass 36 years ago, making it his goal to specialize in quality conservation of historic stained glass windows. He was mentored by Art Femenella, and they collaborated on many conservation projects over the years. Roberto continues to be hands-on on all of the studio’s conservation projects and has conserved some of America’s most important windows. Roberto was the first Recognized Professional of the Association for Preservation Technology (APT), is a Fellow of the American Institute of Conservation, and currently the only stained glass conservator in the United States to be accredited by the Institute of Conservation (ICON). Zach began his stained glass career in 2001 as an apprentice at Lambertville Stained Glass in New Jersey. During his pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in fine arts (2003) at The Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, he founded the Princeton Stained Glass Studio. In 2012, he joined The Gil Studio, in Brooklyn, NY and began learning restoration & conservation practices. In 2019, Zach took the helm at The Gil Studio, where he has continued to expand upon the extensive catalog of historic stained glass projects.
