Tyler Kimball - Make Your Own Rondel

Do you love a good rondel to highlight a panel perfectly? Have you ever wanted to try your hand in making one? The blown rondel experience class with Tyler Kimball will allow you to create your own alongside an expert. This experience-style class will see you through the process of making your own rondel without having to learn all the foundations of glassblowing. You will apply frit of your color choice to your hot glass gather. You will turn the pipe in the Glory Hole, melting the color and even get to swirl your frit with hand-tools if desired. Tyler will take the colored glass and form it into a blown rondel while you blow air into the pipe upon his request. The finished rondel will be available for pick up at the hotel on Friday, so you can take your rondel home with you. Rondels will vary in size between 5” to 8” in diameter. Tyler will also give a quick talk about the history of rondels and a short demonstration prior to the hands-on workshop.
