Tony Glander - Screen Printing 101

Do you want to add a new technique to your palette? In this class Tony Glander will show you how to add digital images to your glass art. Words, designs or pictures can all be used in this exciting and fun process. Students will learn how to create the image on a transparency, create the screen and finally print onto glass. Discussion will focus on both stained and fused glass use. Paints and a little Photoshop will be covered. Students are welcome to forward a image to the instructor prior to class(tony@fitzpatrickglass.com) and bring a laptop with Photoshop Elements 10 or higher- both are very optional. Tony Glander is a glass artist and instructor who lives in Rockville, Maryland. He has been professionally involved in stained glass for over 30 years. He ran a stained glass retail store in Olde Towne Gaithersburg for 12 years and was a resident artist at the City of Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn for 15 years. He has run the education department at Anything in Stained Glass in Frederick as well as running Fitzpatrick Glass Studios. He has completed thousands of stained glass commissions in the DMV area for homes, churches and businesses. He is an award-winning artist for his work in fused glass. He is a former president of the American Glass Guild. He has written articles for Professional Glass as well as Glass Art magazine. He has been inspired by many of the glass industries best and brightest.
