About the Event
In 2025, The American Glass Guild invited artist Korina Oswald to present her newest community project with the annual American Glass Now Exhibition at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. Korina's previous community projects had brought together stained glass artists from across the United States and around the world, and the AGG wanted to celebrate that spirit of inclusion and welcome among glass artists of all kinds. The opportunity to share this piece in a prominent public setting for an extended period of time would be a way to create more awareness of glass art with the public, and support emerging artists at the same time.
Over 500 artists contributed to Shedding Light, each creating a unique glass piece to form the 100 panels that make up the body of the snake. Every artist was provided a blank template that allowed them to bring their personal touch and style to their section.…
